Markhor is the National Animal of Pakistan. These are found in numerous places throughout Pakistan. In Balochistan these are also found on different Mountainous tracks. Markhors used to be in large in Ziarat esp at Khalifat Mountain (Koh-e-Khaleefat) and presently it was believed that due to hunting, harsh climate and anthropocentric interference Markhors have gone extinct in Ziarat District. But recently a survey has been conducted and more than 16 Markhors were spotted which shows their presence (the exact location cann’t be quoted here due to threat to the status of the animal). In this short clip you will find a large male Markhor (captured with not a good camera though).
