How to Prepare Notes for Competitive Exams?
Assalam-u-Alaikum Dear Aspirants.
In response to my previous post regarding #Time_management, many aspirants have asked as to how one can cover one topic in a single phase of a mere two hours.
This post is going to be about making notes, memorizing the facts & figures and revisions.
The idea is pretty much crystal clear.
1 topic = 1 phase = 2 hours = 120 minutes

#Topic_is_Partition_of_Bengal
#Day_1
#Phase_1
A topic generally comprises around about 5-6 pages that include important details as well as critical analysis.
–> Start reading the topic neither very slowly nor very fast.
–> Highlight the #Facts_and_Figures in it that actually happens to be the crux of the topic. This will take a maximum of 30 minutes.
–> Maintain a register for every subject.
–> Write down the name of the topic at the top of the page.
–> Write down all the highlighted facts and figures in the form of bullets. This will take not more than 10 minutes.
—> You will notice that the topic that seemed 5-6 pages long merely has 1 page of facts and figures.
–> Do not try to force your brain into memorizing the facts and figures.
–> Simply read out the facts and figures once or twice.
–> Still you will have 60+ minutes in hand. You can relax by listening to songs or anything else.
–> Apply the same formula on the subjects in phase 2 and phase of the same day.

–> Here comes the psychological part of your preparation.
–> An aspirant does tend to talk to himself and think if he can still recall whatever he studied in the first phase of day one.
–> When you try to recall, you find that you know some 30-40 % of topic # 1.
–> What you tend to do is that you set aside topic # 2 and get back to topic # 1.
–> This is something that will waste your time and put you under a lot of psychological pressure.
–> What you actually need to do is not to worry if you cannot recall the previous topic.
–> Just give the facts and figures of topic # 1 a single casual reading that won’t take more than 5 minutes.
–> Now, come to the topic # 2.
–> Start reading the topic neither very slowly nor very fast.

–> Again, you tend to talk to yourself and think if you can still recall whatever you studied in the first phase of day one and days two.
–> When you try to recall, you find that you know some 50-60 % topic # 1 and 30-40 % of topic # 2.
–> Just give the facts and figures of topic # 1 and 2 a single casual reading that won’t take more than 5 minutes each.
–. you will be surprised to see that the percentage of familiarity and memorization has increased as compared to what it was on day two.
–> Now, come to the topic # 3.
–> Read the topic, highlight the facts and figures and write them down.
–> Apply the same method every day.
–. You will see that the older the topic gets, the greater the percentage of memorization gets.
–> Another advantage of this technique is that you will be memorizing the facts and figures subconsciously with the help of #pictorial_memory.
–> This technique will also help you during exams where you do not have enough time to revise the entire course.
–> The bullets can be revised in no time at all.
–> These bullets will help you out immensely in the objective portion of the paper.
–> During exams while answering a question, your clear concepts will be further supported if you are able to state the facts and figures.
–> Kindly prepare the topics in chronological order so that you are able to inter-relate the events.
