Apple A12 Chip to Be 20 Percent Faster than A11 Bionic

Apple is said to bring the new A12 chips along with the next generation iPhones. The Cupertino tech giant is said to shift from 10nm FinFET node for the A11 Bionic and shifting to the 7nm technology for the Apple A12. It is expected that the shift would bring about an array of improvements.

According to TSMC’s technology page, when compared with the 10nm FinFET process, the 7nm FinFET offers a speed increase of 20-percent. Apart from that new chips are also said to have 1.6 times the logic density, and offers 40 percent power reduction. Of course, there’ll be a ton of other improvements like more transistor count, the inclusion of better LTE modem, etc.
